Test your political preference on the presidential elections

America chooses its new President on November 4th this year.

At the Democratic Convention Barack Obama accepted the official nomination as a candidate for the American presidentship. At the National Convention John McCain did the same for the Republican Party.

In making a decision between those two candidates, we have put a special version of Vote Match USA online.
For both candidates, we have chosen issues on which their positions differ significantly. What should be the schedule for the withdrawal from Iraq? What do McCain and Obama think about abortion, what are their positions on the death penalty? Should the sanctions on Cuba be maintained? How should the subprime mortgage crisis be dealt with?
After reacting to all statements, you will see the positions you support on the screen. You can indicate which standpoints you consider to be especially important. These will then count more heavily in the final results.

On the results screen, you will see the candidate whose views most reflect your own. You can compare yourself to both candidates and click to see the scores on the individual issues. You can also check how other Vote Match users made out and which issues are extra important in determining the results.

VoteMatch is based on a concept developed in the Netherlands.
